I read that if you are looking to work as a television writer, a good
place to start is to try and get people to read an episode that you
wrote of a show that already exists, so they can see how well you
capture the voices of characters that have been predetermined. For
anyone who has written one of these, I am just wondering, did you
advance the plot of the show? Did you make the episode take place at
a certain point in the show's story arc (did it take place in a
specific season)? I read that I should try to write a "typical
episode" and I'm not sure exactly what this means.
