What is the name of this western movie?

So I saw a western movie a while back on TV. It was a great film, but
when I wanted to look it up on netflix, there was a problem. I didn't
know the title.

Okay, here is the discription as best I can give of the movie's plot:
The movie was about a young African American man who could not talk,
and he wanted a life of adventure (So I infered). Then, very soon in
the movie, a long haired blond sharp-shooter desperado leads his gang
into town to rob a bank. His gang is kill, but he gets away by
feigning death and riding his horse to saftey. Okay, so blah blah
blah, the young mute starts following the guy around, yadda yadda
yadda he trains the mute to use firearms and they rob banks, etc.
In the end the desperado finds his girlfriend and the odd trio travel
into indian territory.

If anybody can tell me what the movie title is, you will be my hero!
